Dear Parents/ Guardians,

It is amazing to look back and realize just how quickly the summer goes by.    I hope that you have enjoyed the slower pace that summer offers.  As the summer draws to an end and you start focusing on the coming school year I would like to take the time to introduce myself to you and let you know about some upcoming events at BCS.

My name is Nancy Durang.  This year will be my 4th year at BCS and my 2nd year as the Program and Activities Director.  As the Programs Director I also act as the parent coordinator for volunteering for many of the special events throughout the school year.  Parent volunteers are an essential part of the BCS community.   

Upcoming Events

Harvest Fest

October 3, 2009 will be the Annual Harvest Fest.  The fair has become a favorite event for the younger students of BCS and great way to meet the families of BCS.  Parents are needed to coordinate the different games, food and craft areas.  A planning meeting will take place on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 6:30pm.  All parents are asked to come and contribute their thoughts and ideas. 

Annual Thanksgiving Feast

The Annual Thanksgiving Feast is always a highlight of the school year.  The BCS students and faculty enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving Feast together.  Parent volunteers are needed to help coordinate food donations, prepare food for the feast, and serve on the day of the feast.   The date for the feast will be announced soon.

I understand that you may not be able to volunteer for every event that comes up.  There will be many opportunities throughout the school year to volunteer and parents are always welcome at BCS.  If you have any questions regarding events at BCS please feel free to contact me.  I can be reached through the school office or by email at ohmyjoy@Comcast.net.  

I am excited about the upcoming school year and look forward to getting to know all you this year.
