BCS Parent Report Card

Please take the time to fill out the BCS Parent Report Card that was given to you at the Parent Teacher conferences! We have received them from 20% of our families. Thank you to all those who have helped in this manner!

Harvest Fair!

We had a great time on November 18 at the First Harvest Fair at BCS! Many of our students and families came to enjoy games, face painting, crafts, a bake sale, and special activities with Trinity Baptist! Thank you to all who helped with the day!

Good News about Jared!

Jared Nevens, one of our soldiers, just arrived back in the US on November 25! He has been serving his second tour of duty in Iraq, and is now at his “home base” in Alaska! Jared will be back in Massachusetts on December 15 for a month’s leave. He plans to visit our students some time during his time at home.
We are thankful to see our prayers for the safe return of our soldiers being answered. Jared, Aaron, Eric, and Mark are now back in the states! Please continue to pray for Warren Beard as he serves in Iraq.

Beginning of Christmas Vacation

CLubHouse is Coming!

Do you need childcare during the school vacation weeks? Our CLubHouse program will be resuming during the Christmas vacation. More information will be coming soon! If you are interested in CLubHouse, please contact the school office.

Lost and Found

We have quite a few UNLABELED jackets, sweaters, and sweatshirts in our lost and found. Please stop by the school office during Parent Teacher Conferences to see our “collection” if your child is missing his or her sweater or sweatshirt.
We would appreciate it if you would label your child’s belongings. It is difficult to return a sweater or sweatshirt to the correct child – the garments all look alike!

Karate Class!

On Thursday, December 7, Mr. Ernie Thiverge from ABD (America’s Best Defense) will be giving a demonstration and anti-bullying seminar for our students in grades 2 – 8.
In January, we will be offering a six week afterschool class for self defense and kickboxing at BCS. (T – grades 2 – 5, TH – grades 6 – 8.) Look for more information about this great addition to our program!

A New Assistant Principal!

Brockton Christian School is happy to announce that we have a new Assistant Principal! Mrs. Judy Doherty, our PreK teacher, will be serving as our Assistant Principal, replacing Mrs. Barbara Fish, who is moving to Springfield.

Mrs. Doherty is completing her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood and Special Education at Fisher College. Mrs. Doherty has taught at BCS for seven years, in grade 3 and now in PreK.

Calendar Fundraiser
Thank you to all those who helped with our calendar fundraiser! This year we sold over 770 calendars!

This year’s top sellers were:
Grades 4 – 8 - Becca Willis ( 29 calendars)
Grades PreK – 3 - Amika Niles (51 calendars)

Both Becca and Amika received a Best Buy gift card for their efforts.
Mrs. Hodges took thirty students to KFC – all of whom sold over 10 calendars each! Thank you for your efforts on our students’ behalf!

Class Pictures
We have a limited amount of class photos available in the school office for $7.00 each. If you did not purchase one, and would like one of our extra copies, please contact Mrs. Powell in the school office. Thank you!

New Lunch Menu Items

We are offering a new lunch during the month of December. We will be offering a child’s Boston Market dinner (meat, side item, cornbread, and milk) for $3.50 on a trial basis. One of our parents contacted Boston Market, which will deliver our meals – and give us milk for the students! We will offer Boston Market meals on Tuesdays in December. If our students enjoy the meals, we will continue to offer them after the New Year. Please let us know if you have additional suggestions for catered lunches that we could offer!
Thank you for your patience and understanding with our lunch menu. It has been difficult to offer lunches without a kitchen!

Thanksgiving Celebration in Grade Two!

Our second grade class enjoyed a Thanksgiving celebration on November 21. Each member of the class brought in items to eat – and Mrs. Ash (Teo’s mom) even cooked a turkey! The students dressed in Pilgrim and Native American clothing – and gave a presentation to our Kindergarten class as well!
