BCS Annual Christmas Program
Monday, December 18 – 7:00 PM!

On Monday, December 18, we will be having our annual Christmas Program. This year, we are pleased that Teen Challenge is willing to host our program at their facility.

Join us for our program of music and praise! Our program will start at 7:00 PM. Students need to line up at 6:45 PM at Teen Challenge. Teen Challenge is located 1 block north of BCS on Main Street. Please drive in their entrance and part out back. The program will be held in their gym (yellow building). Join us in thanking God – and Teen Challenge – for providing a place for our program this year!

Our Christmas program is a highlight of our year, so we invite to bring your family and enjoy an evening of music and praise provided by our students, and directed by Mrs. Sharon Lunsford.

Jared is coming home!

Jared Nevens, one of our soldiers, just arrived back in the US on November 25! He has been serving his second tour of duty in Iraq, and is now at his “home base” in Alaska! Jared will be coming back to Massachusetts on December 15 for a month’s leave. He plans to visit our students some time during his time at home.
We are thankful to see our prayers for the safe return of our soldiers being answered.

School Closing Announcements

School closing announcements will be made over radio stations WBET (AM1460) or WEZE (AM 590) and television channels 4, 5, and 7. BCS utilizes the Brockton Public School transportation, so in the event Brockton Public Schools close, there will be no van transportation.

Lost and Found

We have quite a few UNLABELED jackets, sweaters, and sweatshirts in our lost and found. Please stop by the school office to see our “collection” if your child is missing his or her sweater or sweatshirt.
We would appreciate it if you would label your child’s belongings. It is difficult to return a sweater or sweatshirt to the correct child – the garments all look alike!

Karate Classes

In January, we will be offering a six week after school class for self defense and karate at BCS. (T – grades 2 – 5, TH – grades 6 – 8.)

Students need to sign up by January 4, 2006. Sign up information was sent home last week. Please make out any checks to ABD, NOT BCS! We look forward to this great addition to our program!

CLubHouse is Coming!

Do you need childcare during the Christmas vacation? Our vacation care, BCS CLubHouse, will be available as soon as school dismisses on Wednesday, December 20. Christmas Clubhouse will operate from 11:00 AM on December 20 through Friday, December 29. (We will be closed on Christmas Day) Operating hours: 7:30 – 5:30 daily, for a total of 6 ½ days. BCS CLubHouse is available for students in PreK (age 4) through 5th grade.

There is still time to sign up! If you have any questions, please call the BCS office at 508-588-4669. The CLubHouse and AfterCare telephone number is 508-345-4215.

It’s Cold Outside!

Please remind your child to wear a sweater to school during our colder days. You may choose either the cardigan or pullover V-neck uniform sweater for your child to wear. Harvey Uniforms now offers a polar fleece jacket that may be worn during class. White turtlenecks may also be worn under the sweater or polo shirts. Please note that other sweaters or jackets may not be worn in class. Sweaters or additional clothing may be ordered from Harvey Uniform at 1-800-462-8192.

When students go outside for recess, they should have gloves or mittens and a hat, along with a warm coat!

Class Pictures

We have a limited amount of class photos available in the school office for $7.00 each. If you did not purchase one, and would like one of our extra copies, please contact Mrs. Powell in the school office. Thank you!

Calendars Still Available!

A limited amount of calendars is still available in the school office for the price of $6.00. Please contact Mrs. Powell if you would like to purchase any remaining calendars.

Lunch Menu

We are interesting in your input with the new offerings by Boston Market in our lunch program. We will be continuing the Boston Market dinners during the month of January. Please let us know if you have additional suggestions for catered lunches that we could offer!

Thank you for your patience and understanding with our lunch menu.

The lunch order for the first week of January needs to be in by Tuesday, December 19!

Tax Related Information

Would you like a statement of AfterCare or child care for your 2006 taxes? You can request an AfterCare year-end statement for tax purposes. Please send your request in writing to the school office, attention to Debbie Powell. You may also email your request to dapowell@brocktonchristian.com. We will need a minimum of three days in order to prepare your statement.
