It's Re-Enrollment Time!

A re-enrollment packet was sent home with your child last week. BCS will hold enrollment for current students from now until March 1. We will open enrollment to the public on February 17, and will continue until the seats are filled.

If you have any questions regarding the re-enrollment procedure, please contact Mrs. Hodges. If you have any questions regarding finances or the new Key Bank tuition payment plan, please contact Mrs. Debra Powell, Business Manager.

Prospective Student Open House!

Brockton Christian School will be hosting two "Prospective Student Open Houses". An evening Open House will be held on Tuesday, March 13, from 6:30 – 8:00 PM, and a daytime Open House will be held on Monday, April 2, from 8:30 – 11:00 AM. Parents and students are invited to tour the school, talk with current parents and students, and look at our curriculum materials. On April 2, prospective students could also attend a class (daytime Open House). This is a wonderful opportunity for you to share the ministry of BCS with your friends and family members!

I-Safe Program for Parents

On Tuesday, March 6, BCS will be hosting an I-safe program with the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office. You are invited to attend our I-Parent Program to learn how parents around the country are making their homes and communities Internet safe through the I-Parent Campaign.

You Look Out For Them in the Real World… Do You Know What They’re Doing Online?
1 in 8 children have been asked by someone on the Internet to meet face to face.

According to an ongoing I-SAFE poll—
• Just under half of all 7th Graders visit Internet chat rooms.
• Nearly 70% of 8th Graders admitted to having “flamed” someone (sent a hurtful or angry online message).
• Over 30% of high school seniors have posted their photo on the web and up to 20% have met someone face-to- face they came to know online.

Learn how to:
• Protect your family from online risks.
• Avoid being victimized by Internet predators.
• Be part of a nationwide Internet safety education campaign.

I-SAFE recognizes that a digital divide exists between parents and their children when it comes to the use of technology. In most cases, the kids know more about the Internet and new technology than their parents. That is why I-SAFE launched the I-PARENT Campaign - a nationwide movement of students, parents, educators and public officials - to inform parents about the dangers their kids face online and offer tips to help protect them.

HELP US HELP YOU!

If you recommend Brockton Christian School to another family that has not attended Brockton Christian School, and they pass in your recommendation to me at an interview meeting, we will offer you this exciting arrangement. If this family enrolls their child(ren) at BCS for September, and is attending in February of 2008, we will take $250.00 off your March tuition next year!

Any additional recommendations will result in a $100.00 tuition rebate, per new family attending. In this way, you will have the opportunity to decrease your tuition expenses, and we will be able to increase our ministry and student enrollment!

AfterCare Notes…

Please note that, effective February 20, 2007, the AfterCare over hours charge will be $20.00 for each 10 minutes overtime. This allows us to pay our staff overtime pay for the time that they must stay.

Starting on February 26, students in grades 4 – 8 that stay for AfterCare will report to Miss Steven’s (T, TH) or Mrs. Doherty's (M, W) room after school. This will give our older students a place for homework and geared to their age group. We will have these rooms open Monday – Thursday with the exception of staff meeting days (alternating Wednesdays.)
