BCS Honors Volunteers!
This is National Volunteer Week! Today in chapel, we honored four of our faithful volunteers. Our students signed certificates and presented them to our volunteers in chapel. Our volunteers are:
Mr. James Corbett – Kindergarten
Mr. Paul von Protz – Kindergarten
Mrs. Jean Dodero – First Grade
Mr. John Lewis – Basketball
Mr. Corbett and “Mr. Paul” have been volunteers at BCS for 13 years! They came to help Mrs. O’Regan when she had twenty students in her class, and have volunteered faithfully ever since. They help with art projects, woodworking, reading, and give Mrs. O’Regan an extra set of hands whenever needed.
Mrs. Dodero, or “Miss Jean”, has been our first grade volunteer this year. She helps with reading activities in small groups each Monday morning. This allows some of our younger students to have some individual attention and help.
Mr. John Lewis is our Kindergarten Aide on Tuesdays and Thursdays. When he saw a need with our older students, he offered to be their basketball coach. Now, every Thursday afternoon, he spends an hour and a half teaching basketball skills and sportsmanship.
We thank each of our volunteers for helping make a difference in the lives of our students!
Welcome Mrs. Oliver!
We welcome Mrs. Cheri Oliver, who will be teaching seventh grade until the end of this school year. Mrs. Ciulla had a prior commitment to fill in for a maternity leave at Brockton High School, but was able to help us from February until April.
Mrs. Oliver’s husband, Mark, is the pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, our host church. She has taught high school, ESOL, and special education classes in both Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. Currently, she is the director of the ESOL ministry that is located at Trinity, and serves the greater Brockton immigrant community.
Please pray for her as she steps in to teach the rest of the school year, and for the administration as we seek a permanent teacher for the 7th grade for next year.
How Can Parents Help?
We are in our enrollment (and re-enrollment) time at Brockton Christian School. As we prepare for next year, there are many things that parents can do to help!
• Tell your family and friends that “great things are happening at my child’s school!”
• Bring a CD with a PowerPoint presentation to a friend’s home or to your church or pastor (available in the school office)
• Give out a full-color brochure to a friend or co-worker
• Give out our school website address to a friend or co-worker (www.brocktonchristian.com)
• Email a friend or acquaintance and send them a link to our email address - administration@brocktonchristian.com
• Last, but not least – here’s our phone number (508) 588-4669!
Remember – if a new family enrolls and writes your name on the application as a reference, the following February you will receive a $250.00 tuition discount! ($100.00 for any additional families)

You will be receiving your final bill for tuition during the first part of May. Please check the information and contact Mrs. Debra Powell, treasurer, if you have any questions. She can be reached at the school office from 7:30 – 8:15 and from 12:30 – 2:30 daily. You can also email her at dapowell@brocktonchristian.com. Thank you!
