Lost and Found

We have quite a few UNLABELED jackets, sweaters, and sweatshirts in our lost and found. Please come to the school office if your child is missing his or her sweater or sweatshirt.
We would appreciate it if you would label your child’s belongings. It is difficult to return a sweater or sweatshirt to the correct child – the garments all look alike!

Lunch orders

Please make sure that your child brings the lunch order slip to the office no later than 11:00 AM on each Tuesday. We will not be able to accept lunch orders after that time.
Lunch order forms should have your child’s name. Correct change is appreciated! Please do not include tuition or AfterCare payments in the same check if you pay by check. Thank you!

Thanksgiving Dinner

This year, we will not be having our traditional annual Thanksgiving Dinner. Due to the fire at Trinity Baptist in June, we do not have access to a kitchen for our parents to cook the meal. We hope to have a spring celebration meal, depending upon the completion date of the work that needs to be done on the church side of our building.

School Pictures

Today, your child’s school pictures were sent home with the plastic packet, if they were paid for on the day of the pictures. If you wish to have a retake, please return the package to school. If your child was absent on the picture day, you may order photos on retake day. We will have retakes on Monday, November 20. (pictures must be paid for in advance)

We have a new teacher!

Have you noticed a new face in the third grade classroom? Miss Kristen Stevens is our new 3rd grade teacher! Miss Stevens hails from West Bridgewater, where she attended West Bridgewater Middle/Senior High School. She is a 2005 graduate of Houghton College in Houghton, New York, where she majored in Childhood Education.

Miss Stevens attends the South Weymouth Church of the Nazarene, and attends a Tuesday evening Bible study. She has two brothers, Matthew and Jonathan, and lives with her mother and father currently.

We found out that Miss Stevens loves chocolate and the color pink! She also likes to read and shop!

When asked why she wanted to teach at BCS, she stated, “I love the Christian atmosphere and the diversity of the staff and students.” Her favorite thing about BCS thus far is “… the students… are wonderful, especially the third graders!”

Miss Steven’s dream for her students is that “all of my students will develop a lasting love of learning and the realization that with God’s help, they can accomplish anything!” Miss Steven’s most meaningful experience at BCS so far has been her first day of teaching on her own! She has been at BCS since Monday, October 16! Welcome, Miss Stevens!

CLubHouse is Coming!

Do you need childcare during the school vacation weeks? Our CLubHouse program will be resuming during the Christmas vacation. More information will be coming soon! If you are interested in CLubHouse, please contact the school office.

This Year’s Theme Verse

When I chose the school theme verse early last summer, I had no idea what the Lord had in store for our school this year. The verse was chosen before the fire in June, and since then, we have seen: a fire in our facility, a flood (actually two!) in our office, the need to replace a teacher the week before school started, cramped building space, sorting through school/church/business computers and technology, lunch in our AfterCare room, two smaller chapel times each week, sharing rooms with the food pantry and ESOL classes at night, and many other changes this year!

In the midst of these changes, we see ONE thing – God is faithful!!! That is why our school verse this year makes so much sense and is such an encouragement to us: “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope that we profess, for He who promised is faithful!” As we continue through this school year, it will be exciting to see how God works through ALL the circumstances in our lives! We commit to remember that God IS faithful!

If you see a PreK or Kindergarten student, ask them to demonstrate the difference between swerving and unswervingly! I love to see them show me!

- Mrs. Hodges
