ADMISSIONS

Brockton Christian School admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.  It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administrated programs.  BCS celebrates and encourages a diverse student body.

Brockton Christian School is open to anyone interested in securing a Christian education, from PreK through eighth grade, whom the school finds qualified for admission and who agrees (and whose parents agree) that he or she shall abide by Brockton Christian School rules. It must always be understood that attendance at Brockton Christian School is a privilege and not a right. This privilege must be forfeited by any student who does not conform to the school’s standards of conduct and/or who is unwilling to adjust to our environment.

All students must be convinced they want to attend Brockton Christian School and agree to honestly and wholeheartedly apply themselves to “study to show [themselves] approved unto God” (2 Timothy 2:15, KJV). They also agree to be courteous and respectful to their peers, staff, faculty, and other daily associates.

Entrance testing, transcripts, health records, and birth certificates are required for all students in K-5 - 8.   Students in PreK and K-4  require health records and birth certificates.  A visitation day may be scheduled for new or prospective students to spend time in class and for testing.  Visitation days must be scheduled in advance.  Students entering K-5 through eighth grade will take an entrance test to determine placement in BCS.

To be eligible for PreK, students must be three years old by March 1 of the year they enter school.  To be eligible for K-4, students must be four years old by September 1.  K-5 students must be five years old by September 1 of the year they enter school.  All K-5 students will be screened the summer before they enter Kindergarten to determine readiness.

All new students are admitted on a probationary period of 6 weeks. If, during this 6 weeks, it is determined that Brockton Christian School cannot serve the needs of the student either academically, behaviorally, or spiritually, they will be asked to withdraw.

Brockton Christian School’s admission procedure officially begins with a re-enrollment period in February and March, during which time currently enrolled students and their siblings have priority in registrations for the following year.  There is a discount for families who re-enroll by March 15th.  Families re-enrolling must be current in their tuition payments.

New applications may be filed at any time during the year and must be accompanied by a $100.00 registration fee.  New students may be enrolled, provided acceptance requirements are met, at any time during the year until the end of April.  New eighth graders are not traditionally accepted after the first grading period.  Exceptions may be made in extreme circumstances, such as a move to the area.
