Report Cards And Grading Scale
The Christian school student should strive at all times to do the best work possible. To monitor student progress, a report card will be issued four times during the school year (three times for PreK, K-4 and K-5). During the first quarter, report cards will be given out at parent/teacher conferences. The second, third and fourth quarters, the student will bring the report card home. Report cards will not be released in the event of a past due balance on the student's account.
Report cards record each student’s grades and also personal comments about the student’s achievements, effort, and conduct.
In addition, mid-term progress reports will be issued in grades 4-8 as deemed necessary by the teachers. Other notes of progress will be made by all teachers as the need arises.
Marking System PreK, K-4 and K-5
Students will be evaluated in a variety of areas, based on developmental and readiness skills. The beginning months of PreK, K-4, and K-5 are mainly a time of adjustment to working in a group situation, learning to share materials, taking turns and following teacher direction. Parents are reminded that learning is developmental; a child masters a skill when he or she is ready. While certain guidelines have been determined by studying a wide sample of children at this age, undo pressure should be avoided if a child does not appear to be at the exact same place as his or her peers.
