Reader's Corner Book Club

Some of our parents had asked if we had any Christian book club order forms. We are sending home a flyer from “The Reader’s Corner,” which has many Christian books at different reading levels. (think ahead for Christmas gifts!)

If you plan to order, please fill out the order form, send it with cash or a check made out to BCS by Tuesday, November 15. Books will be delivered by Christmas. If you plan to use them as gifts, please let us know, so we can bag them for you to pick up in the school office! You get a free book if you order 3 or more books!

We will send home a similar order form in March!

Parents of students in grades 1 – 8 will need to make an appointment with their child’s teacher in order to receive this term’s report card.

You should have received your teacher sign up schedules already! Ask your child!

Thanksgiving Dinner Volunteers Needed!

We typically have an All School Thanksgiving Dinner in November for our students. Mrs. Laura Kasica in our coordinator, but we still need parents and/or family members to help cook on that day! If you can help in this area, please contact the school office.

We will also need 4 volunteers to cook a turkey the night before. (We will provide the turkey) If you can help, please call the school office. Thank you!

Our Soldiers

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This week in chapel, we talked about some of the servicemen that are connected with BCS. Each week, we show their pictures in chapel, so our students are reminded to pray for them. We had a special visit from Jared this week, as he is home on leave!

One of our soldiers is Jared Nevens. He is 22 years old, and is home on a two-week leave from Iraq. He is part of a battalion that serves where insurgent fighting is fierce. Jared will be returning to Iraq next week for at least another ten months.

The other soldier is Aaron Andrade. He is a graduate of Brockton Christian School, along with his wife, Laura. He is also stationed in Iraq for at least the next year.

Please pray along with us for these two men. If you would like to write and encourage them, please contact the school office for their address. Both men are involved in counseling others, and have a strong testimony for the Lord.

Karen I. Hodges, Principal

Things are Happening Here!

During the past week, you could see many new things happening here at Brockton Christian School.

• Our basketball team (grades 7 and 8) got their new uniforms! Miss Summers is our basketball coach.

• Our 8th graders spent the day at Plimouth Plantation on November 1!

• Our “Walking Club” is growing! This week, 33 students had passed in 5 mile walking slips! Keep on walking – it’s a healthy habit!

Christmas Parade

Is anyone interested in helping to plan a float for the Brockton Christmas Parade? Please contact Mrs. Kingsley, grade 6. You can email her at rosannak@comcast.net.
The parade is usually held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We participated by marching in the parade last year. It’s a great way to promote the school, and have a great time together!
