Volume 9, Issue 14 – January 11, 2006

We’d like to thank all those who supported Brockton Christian School’s Christmas program – “Keep Christ in Christmas.”  It was our largest attendance yet – and was full of beautiful, exciting music!  We heard many positive comments!  Someone stated that BCS will soon be known for its music program, which will draw new students to the school!  Praise the Lord!

Uniform Swap

A number of parents have mentioned that their children have outgrown some of their uniform pieces. If you would like to try to sell your outgrown clothing to another family, please send in an index card with the items, size, and possible price (or willing to give pieces away). We have a bulletin board in the office for a clothing exchange. Please note: BCS is not selling uniforms for you, but we are providing a forum for you to do so!

We also have a number of pieces that families have donated to the school for families in need. We have a small number of pieces in boxes. Please stop by the school if you need something. We have some pants, some polo shirts, and a few sweatshirts.

Please do not send in your extra, outgrown pieces unless you know to whom they are going! We simply do not have the room to store them! Thank you!

Tax Related Information

Would you like a statement of AfterCare or child care for your 2005 taxes? You can request an AfterCare year-end statement for tax purposes. Please send your request in writing to the school office, attention to Debbie Powell. You may email your request to Mrs. Powell at dapowell@brocktonchristian.com. We will need a minimum of three days in order to prepare your statement.

Parent Connections

We are aware of many parents in the BCS family who have local businesses. Would you be interested in having some information on our web page? We could help you connect with a local business for when you might have a need. (For example, I know of a building contractor, chiropractor, loan officer, and carpenter!) We could also feature someone’s occupation in our newsletter! If you are interested, please email or fax your information to Mrs. Hodges. We’ll get back to you!

Are your child’s pants, skirt, or jumper getting too short? Grandma Sue (our lunch aide) will lengthen the outfit for you for a reasonable price. You may contact her at 508-587-7248.

Tuition Information

We would appreciate your prompt payment of tuition. Our fuel bills have dramatically increased this winter. Since over 90% of our incoming money pays staff salaries, we need to have our tuition payments on time.

With a student body count of 110, it is absolutely critical that tuition payments be made on time. Thank you!

BCS Fleece Wear

Would you like a warm, cozy fleece to wear this winter? We are offering youth and adult fleece jackets and half-zip pullovers, with the Brockton Christian School name embroidered on them. Fleece wear will be appropriate classroom wear on any day! Order forms were sent home on Monday. Prices are $37.50 for youth sizes (S, M, L, XL) and $42.50 for adult sizes (S, M, L, XL). If you wish to be a part of a special order with no shipping costs, please send in a form or a note with the money (or check made out to Harvey Uniforms) by Friday, January 13. You can also order directly from Harvey Uniforms at any time.

Things are Happening Here!

During the past week, you could see many different things happening here at Brockton Christian School:

• Forty-eight of our 4-8th graders went to see the “Chronicles of Narnia” film in Kingston on December 20. We all agreed that it was an awesome movie. Now – read the books!

• The sixth grade students made life size people to go along with their biography book reports. They are “hanging” in the hallway!
