World
Culture Day
On Wednesday, March 15th,
BCS will be sponsoring our second “World Culture Day,
“ celebrating the different cultures that represent
the families of BCS.
We invite you and your family
to participate. We need to have parents, grandparents, or
extended family members available to share about their culture
or traditions. We will have chapel, a special “World
Fair,” and a special program in the afternoon.
Parents: We need your help!
• Your children will be asked to bring in music, maps,
posters, and food that reflect your culture.
• Parents and adults are needed to help supervise tables
of activities.
• Are you willing to bake or make a food item that reflects
your family heritage?
Please let us know in the
school office, or contact your child’s teacher.
Our “World Fair”
will be held from 10:00-11:30 AM. Come and enjoy and participate!
Note to students: this is not a dress down day! However, if
you would like to wear clothing from another culture or country,
you may do so! If you have any further questions, please contact
Mrs. Hodges as soon as possible. Thank you.
Jump Rope For Heart
On Friday, March 17, the
BCS students will jump into the fight against heart disease
and stroke with Jump Rope For Heart. The fun starts will be
during gym class with Mr. McDowell!
This popular event takes
place in other schools all over the country. Students jump
rope and collect donations from family and friends. Our efforts
help other kids and adults who may have heart disease or stroke.
Jumpers who raise a certain amount of money receive thank-you
gifts.
Jump Rope For Heart is a
school fitness and education program. It teaches the value
of cardiovascular fitness while raising money for research
into heart disease and stroke. These diseases are our nation’s
No. 1 and No. 3 killers.
Jump Rope For Heart is co-sponsored
by the American Heart Association and the American Alliance
for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
More information will go
home with your child on Friday, March 3.
