Treasure
Hunt
Ingredients
• Pieces
of paper
• Pencil
• Small
treat (treasure) Direction
Hide
a treasure from your child. Write down step-by-step instructions
to find the treasure. Write each instruction on a single piece
of paper. Direct your child to the first clue. Have him read
the instructions to find the next clue. Each clue directs your
child to another hiding place until he finally finds the treasure.
Example
Direct
your child to the refrigerator door, where the following clue
is taped: "Look behind the blue chair in the living room." The
clue behind the blue chair might read, "Nice start, now
look under your bed." As your child's vocabulary increases,
make the clues more difficult. For older children, you might
want to leave hints, such as "Inside where it showers
there are no spring flowers," (answer: the bathroom).
